Drawing process meme!

Instructions!
Yeah okay they're really simple, just go through your drawing process step by step by illustrating your thoughts and tag some people at the end maybe.

Step 1 - Traditional sketches!

I just sketch the whole thing traditionally on a A4 paper and work on it until I'm satisfied XD Even though most details ( like accessories/markings ) will go into the digital part of the process I usually like to do my best on the sketch either way, so it looks pleasing and in a way that makes me want to work on it digitally even more 8D

Step 2 - Scanning!
 
I take the traditional piece and transfer it to my computer trough a scanner so I can start working on it digitally! :'3 there's nothing much at this part lmao

Step 3 - Lining!

I open my file on my Photoshop CS3 and start lining on a different layer using the pixel brush and pen tool and just work on the base of everything before refining everything in the end :'D I usually make sure there's no mistakes or ugly spots in the lines ( I don't suceed all the time LOL ) and refine the edges of pressure manually. I mostly do everything on my touchpad but I like using the actual brush when I draw with my tablet and the pressure works on it's own there too haha XD

Step 4 - Basic colors!
   
The coloring part is usually the quickest for me ( BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE COMPLEXITY  OF THE CHARACTER OF COURSE ), as I take longer in lining than in filling in with colors. I add a new layer to the file and put it below the lines layer, and fill it with the wand tool and just go doing things one color at a time Once I'm done I just check if I did markings and stuff right and add some other color details in accessories and stuff :'D

Step 5 - Shading!

Shading takes me a while too XDD I'm never really satisfied with my shading, sometimes I think it looks too simple and sometimes that it looks too complicated. LOL But overall I usually just do the same process of creating the shading in darker tones in a layer above the colors one, and work it until I'm happy with it XD ( only to hate it afterwards HA ) 

Step 6 - Lighting!

Yes, I do shading and lighting separately Don't ask me why, it helps me understand what I'm doing LOL I usually put the lighting above the shading on the layering and use lighter tones and sometimes a few layer effects to help with some colors. It takes a bit less time than shading :'3 


Step 7 - THE EYES!

THEM EYES!! I just LOVE coloring and shading the eyes, AAAAAA!!! It's probably my favorite part in the drawing because the eyes usually give the character the emotion and the depth and an pretty effect, I don't know XD I usually try my best to make the eyes as pretty as I can, with shading and lighting and some effects ;;w;; They probably look the same despite the colors sometimes but I always have fun working on them

Step 8 - Background!

Oh, this is where I fail XD I CAN'T do backgrounds to save my life LMAO I just can't. OTL I usually can't seem to figure out a proper background beforehand and just work on them on the go, and if it looks good after a few tries and I'm satisfied with it I just go for it XD Sometimes I'm lucky to have thought of a background in my head before and execute it, BUT I'M NOT ALWAYS ABLE TO EXECUTE IT THE WAY IT LOOKS IN MY HEAD HHHH OTL Oh well XD and I absolutely CAN'T do like, scenery. I can't. It looks like stuff from a 3rd grader lmao

Step 8 - Extra effects and/or final touches!

Sometimes depending on the drawing I like to give more effects to the overall picture to give it more of a depth and sort of like an atmosphere if I feel like it needs it :'D Most of the times I screw up and give up on it and publish the drawing without all the extra effects but sometimes they do look good! :'D ( DON'T JUDGE ME SOBS )

I uh... I think that's it! My drawing process isn't all that complicated and probably different from what people do in some ways, but it's what I do since always I guess ;w;
